The 72nd Nagano Prefectural Sake Competition, September 2-3, 2025

To further improve the quality and brewing techniques of Nagano Prefecture’s sake, the Nagano Prefectural Sake Competition was held in the 4th floor auditorium of the Food Technology Division of the Industrial Technology Center.

This year, 42 entries from 24 breweries were submitted in the Ginjo category, 85 entries from 49 breweries in the Junmai Ginjo category, and 19 entries from 19 breweries in the Junmai category. Sensory evaluations were conducted on overall sake quality, including taste, aroma, and flavor balance.

The results will be announced shortly.

The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Food Technology Division of the Industrial Technology Center.

★Following on from last year, a crowdfunding campaign is underway to further improve the quality of Nagano Prefecture’s sake to the top in the nation.

Donations of 5,000 yen or more will receive an invitation to the “Seminar to Promote the Appeal of Nagano Prefecture’s Sake” to be held at the Nagano Prefectural Industrial Technology Center. At the seminar, you will be able to sample sake brewed in Shinshu, and we would love to hear your thoughts and opinions.
